We had a really nice day for our May match even though it started a little chilly for mid-May. It warmed up fairly quickly and was pretty pleasant most of the day and the good weather probably contributed to a good turn out. It was quite sunny with mirage at times, but occasional cloud cover hid it at times as well. The wind wasn't doing anyone any favors most of the day, but there were a few times where it was nearly calm. Regardless, it was not consistent and there were a lot of switches, and it was pretty difficult to get a good handle on it. There was a lot of good shooting in spite of the wind, and plenty of competitive shooting, with a tie for the Open X pot, and the top 4 positions in that class being determined by X count, and 2 more shooters withing a point of that. In FTR Mark Berhorst shot an impressive 396 with a .223, and Jake Wolfe took both the win and X pot in Varmit/Tactical.

 

We also had a good group of 3 Junior shooters, 2 in Open, and one in FTR, who all shot amazingly well for the conditions. Several of our Juniors are competing quite often, and it is great to see them staying interested and progressing all of the time. Our adult shooters better pay attention, our Juniors will be outshooting them soon!
